District #2 Newsletter – Traditions

Hello District 2!

I hope everyone had a great Easter and had a chance to relax and spend time with loved ones. My kids way-too-early morning excitement about the Easter bunny makes me think about how traditions have passed down in our family. Now I know how my parents felt and why they seemed so tired on Easter. Many lodges operate under traditions passed on through the generations. Be respectful of history, but don’t be afraid to try new things or take on new events to make spice things up. Try to ensure your lodge is offering something of value to new members and keeping current members engaged. If you aren’t sure what would keep the sidelines filled, ask your Brothers. The Grand Master’s listening sessions have provided a great list of ideas to start.

Many thanks to Br. Larry Ganske, District Lecturer, who has been very busy traveling for the new format School of Instruction. Hopefully your lodges have taken advantage of his expertise and had a chance to learn something new. I’d also like to thank the Lodges that have completed your inspections during district team visits. If you haven’t submitted the form yet, we’ll be in touch soon regarding a lodge visitation.

Our fraternity has lost some great brothers recently, particularly in District 2. For those that have been able to attend these Masonic services, your support is greatly appreciated. It is important to pay our respects to our Brothers and it makes quite the statement when we have a large turnout. I was overwhelmed to see nearly 100 Masons from throughout the district attend Br. Dan Walter’s service. Be there when it counts & keep up the good work!
